PISTON ENGINE MANAGEMENT WITH TXi™ FLIGHT DISPLAYS
Upgrade your piston-powered aircraft with an advanced engine indication system (EIS) that offers detailed real-time data to help you better manage your engine operation and protect your investment.
Available Aircraft
TXi EIS is compatible with most normally aspirated or turbocharged 4- to 6-cylinder engines in GA piston singles and twins. With an installed interface module and sensors, the TXi EIS system serves as the primary EIS display for piston-engine aircraft — so you can remove outdated analog gauges.
Choice of Sizes
A single 12.1-inch or 10.6-inch TXi display can accommodate PFD, MFD and a vertical EIS strip. The 7-inch landscape and portrait formats can act as dedicated EIS displays — or for single-engine aircraft, as a split-screen MFD/EIS display1.
Engine Operation
See the details in your engine’s performance with easy-to-read displays.
Engine Gauges
Large, prominent engine gauges provide real-time indications with color-coded pointers and data bands that indicate normal operating ranges, cautions and exceedances.
Power Management
Function gauges and indicators can include manifold pressure, RPM, fuel flow, oil pressure and fuel quantity-per-tank readouts — plus the option for a Percent Power readout. Bar gauges display numerical values for additional precision.
Temperature Monitoring
See cylinder head temperature and exhaust gas temperature (EGT) for each cylinder in your engine. EGT can be used as a basis for achieving the optimal fuel/air mixture for combustion. See turbine inlet temperature in turbocharged aircraft — including Tornado Alley Turbonormalizing systems in
Cirrus aircraft.
Lean Assist Mode
Lean assist mode automatically checks the EGT of all cylinders and identifies your preferred rich/lean setting to balance efficiency and performance. Normalized mode is also available to display the CHT/EGT engine temperatures relative to a normalized value to increase indication sensitivity, so you can see trends quickly.
Engine and Fuel Monitoring
See fuel and electrical information for greater awareness in flight.
Fuel Quantity and Management
TXi EIS is compatible with CiES fuel float sensors and displays total fuel on board as well as fuel quantities for aircraft with up to 6 fuel tanks. In addition, the TXi EIS system lets you enter and display fuel management calculations based on the unit’s integrated fuel computer. Once airborne, TXi EIS monitors fuel flow and GPS information to estimate how much fuel, range and flight time you have left at current settings — as well as how much fuel and endurance you’ll have left upon reaching your destination.
Electrical and Vacuum Gauge Monitoring
Monitor your aircraft’s electrical system, including display of the main bus voltage, alternator amperage and power load on the battery. You can add the vacuum-gauge option for aircraft that use vacuum-driven standby instruments and systems, such as de-ice boots. OAT gauge insets can be set to alert at thresholds and cleared by discrete inputs, such as pitot heat.
Automatic Data Logging
To help you maintain your engine, data logs are automatically created to record parameters such as engine hours, temperatures and more. If your TXi EIS system is paired with a GDL® 60 datalink or Flight Stream 510 wireless gateway, the data can be wirelessly transmitted to the Garmin Pilot™ app running on your compatible mobile device2.
Upon landing, EIS data can be uploaded for secure storage on the flyGarmin.com® website. After you upload your data to flyGarmin.com, you can share it with select data analysis services to analyze your flight logs in greater depth. This can help you identify performance issues or maintenance needs to avoid costly repairs later.

Enable Smart Rudder Bias and Alerts
TXi EIS enables Smart Rudder Bias in select piston twins when paired with a TXi PFD and GFC™ 600 autopilot with the yaw damper option. You can also set caution alerts when you are near exceedance limits. In case of an actual exceedance event, each out-of-limit parameter is highlighted with a flashing indication on the screen.
