If a Garmin autopilot has been on your upgrade list, the timing has just improved. Garmin has launched its 2026 Autopilot Rebate, offering customers money back on a qualifying GFC 500 or GFC 600 retrofit autopilot bought within the promotional window. Here is what is on offer and how to make the most of it.
What the rebate covers
Customers purchasing a qualifying retrofit autopilot during the promotion can claim a rebate on the following:
- GFC 500 — $500 rebate
- GFC 600 — $1,000 rebate
- GFC 600H (helicopter) — $1,000 rebate
The rebate applies to new customer purchases of the qualifying products made between 2 July and 15 September 2026. Completed submissions must reach Garmin by 23 October 2026. The claim is made on Garmin's official rebate form with a dated, itemised invoice — we will hand you everything you need and walk you through it when you order.
Why a GFC 500 or GFC 600 is worth it
A modern digital autopilot is one of the highest-value upgrades you can make to a piston aircraft, and the rebate simply sharpens an already strong case. Depending on your aircraft, the GFC 500 or GFC 600 brings:
- Real workload reduction — altitude hold and pre-select, heading and nav tracking, and vertical speed, so the aircraft flies the tedious parts while you manage the flight
- Coupled approaches, including LPV and ILS, which materially lowers single-pilot workload in poor weather
- Garmin ESP (Electronic Stability and Protection) — a genuine safety layer that gently resists departures toward unusual attitudes or airspeed extremes when hand-flying
- Smart Glide compatibility — in an engine-power-loss emergency, the system can help navigate toward a reachable airport and, coupled to the autopilot, fly there
