Description

This cage type allows for the mounting of aircraft instruments from the front of the panel, without any changes required to the panel or instrument design. The nuts are non-magnetic, featuring a brass speed nut and a phosphor bronze cage, and they conform to MIL-N-3336 standards.

The cage can be easily compressed with finger pressure to enable the insertion of legs into clearance holes. Once fully inserted and pressure is released, the legs spring apart, securing the speed nut in the correct position for receiving the screw.

The turned-down corners of the cage hold firmly against the force of the inserted screw and during screw-tightening torque. All instrument mounting nuts listed below use a 6-32 machine screw.

**Additional Information:**

Although the thread size is consistent across all nuts, the thickness of the instrument bezel can vary between gauges. The nuts are ordered according to the thickness of the back bezel. They are inserted from the back and feature ears that point outward, sliding into a groove between the front and back bezels to keep them securely in place.
