Garmin is pleased to announce new updates and functionality to the TXi family of displays. Software 3.72 adds EIS support for TPE-331-10/-10N engines. It also updates all TXi EIS displays for turbine aircraft to utilize new arc gauges that feature larger indications to maximize readability at a glance. This new gauge style was previously only available for the Cessna Citation CJ2.
New Gauges
With this new update, turboprop EIS round gauges will be updated to a half arc format. This new shape allows for a much larger gauge and increased font size of the digital readout by 50%. The gauge pointer is also larger and now includes a tail to help users locate it on the arc easily. Additionally, arc gauges will now display the minimum and maximum values of the gauge pointer range. These changes will help pilots monitor engine indications quicker and more easily. Please note, customers upgrading to software v3.70 or later will not have an option to retain the previous round gauge style.
New Support for TPE-331 Engines
This TXi update will also expand the list of supported engine types to include Honeywell TPE-331-10/-10N engines. Supported aircraft now include the Cessna Conquest 441 equipped with TPE-331-10N engines, and Mitsubishi MU-2B-40 Solitaire and MU-2B-60 Marquise equipped with TPE-331-10 engines.
This update also adds EIS support for Piaggio P.180 Avanti aircraft equipped with PT6A engines.
